When we arrived in front of the Upper School we were put into groups. Those groups were then assigned a teacher who would drive us to Dungannon. We packed our bags into a separate van, and then got into our cars. In our cars we were given a scavenger hunt with things like statues, tractors, and busses to locate on the way there. Some people in my car listened to music and others played games like life. It didn't feel like it but the trip took 6 hours. -Davis M.
Once we arrived, we all gathered up our personal items that traveled with us in the cars. We rushed inside and claimed our bunks. There are different rooms for both genders, as well as different bathrooms. We then onloaded the cargo van that was full of everyones bags and food for the week. We formed a giant assemble line and passed each item one by one into a stock pile inside. Once everything was unpacked and we had settled in. We walked over to the Dungannon Elementary school and played a large game of mushball. - Easton C.
When we went to Dungannon Elementary school, we played a game called mushball. Mushball is a game sort of like softball in the sort that it is played on the same field and most of the same rules apply. Mushball, however is played with a larger ball so the ball won't travel as far. In Mushball there is an underhand pitcher who will do slowpitch to a batter with a regular softball bat. The batter will then hit the ball and when the ball travels the batter drops the bat and run to the base. Like softball, the object is to score more runs like softball. The team with the more runs will then win the game. -Paige B
After we got into our work groups, we started an activity with them. We each got one marshmallow, some spaghetti, tape, scissors, and yarn. We had to make the tallest structure we could with the marshmallow on the top in 18 mins. Our group made a cube for the base and then made a teepee type thing on top. Then, we stuck some more pasta out of the top of the teepee and put the marshmallow on top. We came in second place and were one of the two groups whose structures were standing. It was so much fun! -Gwen L.
Dinner consisted of meat lasagna, rolls, and a salad also with some lemonade. We had to pair up with somebody of the opposite gender an tell something that is special or something that other people do not know, so while eating we talked as a whole and not seperated between girls and boys. It was really fun and yummy! -Carter L.
